The Salvation Army-Red Shield Appeal!
Anna and I decided to volunter for the Red Shield Appeal as we believe it's a great opportunity helping out for the community and I've always wanted to get involved more in the community. So we rocked up to Randwick Townhall, signed in for registration and we were set to go since it was just us two! We were located to Coogee at a specific street to collect donations. We had those cool red bibs hahaha! We got driven there and the first three houses no one answered and finally someone donates! We were cheering haha! There were some nasty moment as in some people can be rude and it felt like a trek today too, as we had to walk up all these stairs to the door. I knocked the door and we were standing there smiling, getting ready to greet them and suddenly a dog starts barking like crazy!! Honestly it sounded like half pig/dog and I full ran for my life, no joke!! So I almost got a heart attack and tramautized by that too when going to the next houses. But overall this was a lovely experience. Got to meet new people, even the people that donated and this lovely lady we met whom we had a great conversation with her. We got free big mac vouchers and our Captain for Salvation Army, Karen who was in charge for our school, gave us an extra voucher. Which we got so geed hahahaa and pigged out afterwards for Maccas like fatties bwahahahaa!
But I strongly disagree with the whole thing about helping out for your specific background or religion. I believe that we live in a modern society and no matter where we come from, race background and religion. We are all equal as human beings and I strongly believe that we should help each other.
